BOOKWORK

In addition to painting, I am an academic librarian. One day I happened upon the dumpster of “deselected” books at the library where I work, and the image stayed with me. Using books in my work allows me to consider the ephemeral nature of knowledge and technology, nostalgia for the physicality of books, and the pain caused when books are removed from libraries due to censorship.
